Scientists in the United States have identified a highly dangerous fish species that can survive even after coming out of the water. The creature, known as the Snakehead Fish, gets its name because of its snake-like appearance.

The first recorded sighting of this fish in the U.S. dates back to 1997, when it was caught in Silverwood Lake in San Bernardino, California. Researchers initially believed the species originated in East Asia. Recently, another Snakehead Fish was discovered in Georgia, leaving scientists both surprised and concerned.

According to researchers from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, this fish has a specialized respiratory system that allows it to breathe air, enabling it to survive on land for a period of time. Although it may appear motionless at first due to the sudden environmental change, the fish quickly becomes active again.

The Snakehead Fish is known for being an aggressive predator. It feeds on small fish, aquatic animals, and even small rodents. The species can grow up to three feet in length and weigh as much as 18 pounds, with sharp teeth that make it a highly efficient hunter.

Environmental experts warn that the Snakehead Fish poses a serious ecological threat.
Authorities advise the public to kill the fish immediately if spotted, to prevent damage to local aquatic ecosystems.
