Pasadena seeking public’s input on city manager search

The city of Pasadena announced Monday, Jan. 5, that it is seeking input from the public as it conducts a nationwide search for a new city manager.

In November, Miguel Márquez announced he would be retiring from the role to focus on his family after the passing of his father. Márquez will continue to serve as city manager until a permanent replacement is appointed, the city said last year.

Márquez served as Pasadena’s city manager since 2022. According to the city, WBCP Inc. will be leading the recruitment effort. The city has invited members of the public to provide input, “on the core attributes, leadership qualities, and technical strengths the city should prioritize.”

To submit input, fill out an online survey. Surveys in Spanish, Armenian and Chinese (Mandarin) are also available. Responses are due by Monday, Jan. 26, and applications for city manager will be accepted through Thursday, Jan. 29. According to the city, interviews will be conducted in early March.
