ATHENS, Ga. — The No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs came out firing in their 2026 season opener against Tennessee State, quickly taking control at Sanford Stadium.

Georgia’s offense was nearly unstoppable early in the game, with quarterback Gunner Stockton leading an explosive passing attack. Running back Nate Frazier also made an immediate impact, breaking loose for a 48-yard touchdown run and adding another rushing touchdown.

Stockton connected with multiple Georgia receivers for touchdowns, including Elyiss Williams, Talyn Taylor and Oscar Delp, as the Bulldogs built a commanding lead.

Tennessee State struggled to generate offense against Georgia’s defense. The Tigers managed only limited yardage during the opening stages of the game while Georgia repeatedly moved the ball deep into Tennessee State territory.

The Bulldogs entered the season with high expectations after another successful campaign under head coach Kirby Smart. Georgia is once again viewed as one of the leading contenders in the SEC and the College Football Playoff race.

For Tennessee State, the matchup represents a major early-season test against one of college football’s top-ranked programs.
